Ellise's age?

Ahoy there, have read Vanishing Acts a few times over, but have still hit on this little snag: In the trial, Ellise states that she is 47 years old, yet Andrew
confirms for Delia/Bethany that she is in fact 31. Now, I'm aware that it is possible Ellise could have given birth at 16, yet the novel states that she
and Andrew were married before Delia/Bethany came along...

If anyone can shed any light on this, it would be much appreciated. <img height="15"...

I just finished this book, and by the end felt no sympathy for Andrew at all. He lied far too many times for me, he denied Delia her past, he pushed drugs in
jail, he lied on the witness stand. At the end, when he tells Delia he took her "because she asked him to" he is also doing what he does best:
twisting the truth to suit his purpose. When a young child says "Daddy, I don't want to go home yet" that is NOT "consent to abduction"
in my book. This guy...

Hi,

I don't know about anybody else, but although I have loved all the other Jodi books that I have read so far, this one seems to be taking me ages! I just cant seem to get into it at all. It's just dragging on for me (although I will finish it someday as I would like to know how it ends) I'm just not that fussed. Every other book I've read of Jodi's i couldn't put down!!!!

Did anybody else feel like this about this book?<img...

I'm not quite through reading this book, but I've noted a timeline issue. Delia/Beth is 28. Delia/Beth was kidnapped when she was four. Elise was able to stop drinking two years after Delia/Beth was gone, yet she has been sober for 26 years?? What did I miss?

During reading "Vanishing Acts" I was reminded forcibly of a song I had recently heard. The relationship between the charachters, and the words they almost never quite manage to say, seem summed up with breathtaking accuracy in this song. It is "Keep Holding On" By Avril Lavigne. You can google the lyrics. I hope you see the parelells I see, and evjoy the annalogy between these 2 peices!

Has anybody else noticed that in Vanishing Acts (as well as Salem Falls and Perfect Match) Jodi has made references to all things 'alien'? She mentions alien like colors, martians, and abductions. Coincidence or something more? Interested in everone else's opinions.
